Vegetable Bread Schezwan is an innovative dish from my kitchen. It can be best served as an evening tea time snack.
My son loves Indian Chinese food, so I was just wondering what new I could make for him. And had this idea.Measurement: 1 cup = 180 ml
Serves: 2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Bread slices - 6 big or 8 small
- Onion (sliced/ chopped) - 1 medium
- Capsicum (julienned / diced) - 1
- Cabbage (shredded) - 1/2 cup
- Carrot (shredded) - 1/2 cup
- Garlic (crushed / chopped) - 1 tsp
- Ginger (grated / chopped) - 1tsp
- Schezwan sauce (ready made) - 1 1/2 tbsp
- Chilly sauce - 1 tsp
- Tomato ketchup - 2 tsp
- Soya sauce - 2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
- Cut bread slices into small triangles.
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Add ginger and garlic, stir fry for 10 seconds.
- Add onion, stir fry till translucent.
- Add carrot and stir fry till carrot is slightly done.
- Add cabbage and stir fry for a min.
- Add capsicum and stir fry for another min.
- Add all the sauces, salt and pepper powder. Mix well.
- Add bread triangles and toss well.
- Serve hot.
Tip:
- You may use spring onion greens for garnishing. I didn't have it, so not used.
