Vegetable Bread Schezwan

Vegetable Bread Schezwan is an innovative dish from my kitchen. It can be best served as an evening tea time snack.
My son loves Indian Chinese food, so I was just wondering what new I could make for him. And had this idea.

Measurement: 1 cup = 180 ml
Serves:  2 to 3

Ingredients:

  1. Bread slices - 6 big or 8 small
  2. Onion (sliced/ chopped) - 1 medium
  3. Capsicum (julienned / diced) - 1
  4. Cabbage (shredded) - 1/2 cup
  5. Carrot (shredded) - 1/2 cup
  6. Garlic (crushed / chopped) - 1 tsp
  7. Ginger (grated / chopped) - 1tsp
  8. Schezwan sauce (ready made) - 1 1/2 tbsp
  9. Chilly sauce - 1 tsp
  10. Tomato ketchup - 2 tsp
  11. Soya sauce - 2 tsp
  12. Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  13. Salt to taste

Procedure:

  • Cut bread slices into small triangles.
  • Heat oil in a wok.
  • Add ginger and garlic, stir fry for 10 seconds.
  • Add onion, stir fry till translucent.
  • Add carrot and stir fry till carrot is slightly done.
  • Add cabbage and stir fry for a min.
  • Add capsicum and stir fry for another min.
  • Add all the sauces, salt and pepper powder. Mix well.
  • Add bread triangles and toss well.
  • Serve hot.

Tip:

  • You may use spring onion greens for garnishing. I didn't have it, so not used.
