White Coconut Chutney



White Coconut chutney is an accompaniment to the South Indian snacks.

Measurement: 1Cup =180 ml
Serves: 3

Ingredients:
  1. Scrapped coconut - 1 cup
  2. Roasted chana dal - 1 tsp
  3. Green chillies - 1-2
  4. Ginger - 3 - 4 slices
  5. Tamarind - marble size ball
  6. Sugar - 3/4 tsp
  7. Water - 1/2 cup
  8. Salt to taste
For the tempering:
  1. Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  2. Red chilly (broken) - 1
  3. Coconut oil - 1 tsp
Procedure:
  • Grind all the ingredients with water, you may add more water after grinding.
  • Give it a tempering  of mustard seeds and red chilly in coconut oil.
  • Serve with idli/dosa/uttapam/wada/appe.
