Simple Dal Fry




Ingredients:
  1. Toor dal- 1.5 tbsp
  2. Moong dal - 1.5 tbsp
  3. Onion (chopped) - 1 small
  4. Green chilly (chopped) - 1 small
  5. Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  6. Ginger Garlic paste - 3/4 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - less than 1/4 tsp
  8. Vanaspati/Pure ghee- 1 to 1.5 tbsp
  9. Corriander leaves (chopped) - 1tsp
  10. Salt to taste
Procedure:
  • Wash dals and pressure cook tills 7-8 whistles, keep aside.
  • Heat ghee in pan and add cumin seeds.
  • Add onion before cumin seeds crackle.
  • Stir fry for 2 min.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly, stir fry for a min.
  • Add turmeric powder and cooked dal.
  • Add water and salt as per your requirement, simmer for 2-3 min.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
Tip:
  • You may add tomato too.
  • You may use only moong dal or only toor dal or add chana dal (soaked) to both these dals.
