Ingredients:
- Fresh Aavre - 1.5 cup
- Coconut (scrapped) - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies (chopped/slit)- 2
- Mustard seeds - 1/3 tsp
- Hing - 1/3 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala/ Goda masala - 1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - a pinch
- Oil - 1.5 tsp
- Jaggery (grated) - 1 to 2 tsp
- Corriander leaves (chopped) - 1.5 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add mustard seeds, let them splutter.
- Add hing, turmeric powder, green chillies and garam masala.
- Add aavre and stir fry for a few seconds.
- Add chilly powder, pepper powder, coconut and salt.
- Add water and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
- Add jaggery and cook for a min, add water if necessary.
- Garnish with corriander leaves.
- Serve with chapati.
Tip:
If you use dried aavre/paavta/field beans, then you have to soak them for at least 8 hrs, drain, sprout, again soak for 8 to 10 hrs and remove the peels.
