Veg Pulav

Ingredients:
  1. Rice - 1 cup
  2. Carrots (julienned)- 1/2 cup
  3. French beans (shredded) - 1/2 cup
  4. Shelled peas - 1/4 cup
  5. Cloves - 5
  6. Cinnamon - 1" 2 pieces
  7. Bayleaf - 1
  8. Cardamom - 2
  9. Peppercorns - 5
  10. Cumin seeds - a pinch (optional)
  11. Oil - 1.5 to 2 tbsp
  12. Water - 2 cups
  13. Salt to taste
Procedure:
  • Wash and drain rice, keep it aside for 15 min.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add spices.
  • Add rice and peas, stir fry for 5 to 7 min.
  • Add vegetables and stir fry for 2 min.
  • Add hot water to it and salt, pressure cook till 2 whistles.
  • Serve hot.
