Green coconut chutney is an accompaniment to the South Indian snacks.
Measurement: 1 Cup = 180 ml
Serves: 3
Ingredients:
- Scrapped coconut - 1 cup
- Roasted chana dal - 1 tsp
- Green chillies - 1-2
- Coriander leaves - 2 to 3 tbsp
- Garlic cloves - 5 to 8
- Ginger - 2 slices
- Cumin seeds - a pinch
- Tamarind - marble size ball
- Sugar - a pinch
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly (broken) - 1
- Coconut oil - 1 tsp
Procedure:
- Grind all the ingredients with water.
- Give it a tempering of mustard seeds and red chilly in coconut oil.
- Serve with idli/dosa/uttapam/wada/appe.
Tip:
- You may avoid garlic.
- You may add roasted peanuts too while grinding.
