Capsicum Chutney is a Maharashtrian style chutney. It can be served as a side dish to the main course.
Serves: 3 to 4
Ingredients:
- Capsicum (chopped) - 4 - 5 medium
- Green chillies - 2
- Roasted peanuts - handful
- Scrapped coconut - 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/4 to 1/3 tsp
- Mustard seeds - a pinch
- Hing- 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - pinch
- Jaggery (grated) - 1 to 1.5
- Tamarind - marble size ball
- Oil - 1.5 tsp
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
- Heat oil in a kadai and add ingredients numbering 5 to 8.
- Add capsicum and stir fry till they soften.
- Once they are half done, add coconut and peanuts, stir fry.
- Slightly roast green chillies on gas flame.
- Combine all the ingredients and grind without water.
- Serve as a side dish.
