Capsicum Chutney



Capsicum Chutney is a Maharashtrian style chutney. It can be served as a side dish to the main course. 

Serves: 3 to 4

Ingredients:
  1. Capsicum (chopped) - 4 - 5 medium
  2. Green chillies - 2
  3. Roasted peanuts - handful
  4. Scrapped coconut - 2 tbsp
  5. Cumin seeds - 1/4 to 1/3 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds - a pinch
  7. Hing- 1/4 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - pinch
  9. Jaggery (grated) - 1 to 1.5
  10. Tamarind - marble size ball
  11. Oil - 1.5 tsp
  12. Salt to taste

Procedure:
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add ingredients numbering 5 to 8.
  • Add capsicum and stir fry till they soften.
  • Once they are half done, add coconut and peanuts, stir fry.
  • Slightly roast green chillies on gas flame.
  • Combine all the ingredients and grind without water.
  • Serve as a side dish.
