Aloo mutter is a dry prepared in north Indian style. Boiled potatoes and fresh peas are tossed with onion tomatoes and spices. It can be served with phulka, chapati or dal rice combo.
Measurement: 1 Cup = 180 ml
Serves: 3
Ingredients:
- Potato (Boiled, peeled and cubed) - 3 medium
- Peas ( shelled and blanched) - 2 cups
- Onion (chopped) - 2 medium
- Tomato (chopped) - 1 large
- Garlic (crushed) - 4 cloves (optional)
- Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chilly powder - 1/3 tsp or as per your requirement
- Kitchen king masala - 1 1/2 tsp
- Kasuri methi - 1/3 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil - 1to 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste.
Procedure:
- Heat oil in a kadai and add cumin seeds. (Don't allow cumin seeds to crackle)
- Add onion, stir fry till golden brown.
- Add garlic and stir fry for a min.
- Add ingredients numbering 7 to 11. Stir fry for a min.
- Add tomato, stir fry till it turns mushy.
- Add potatoes, peas, salt and sugar.
- Mix well and sprinkle little water.
- Cover and cook for 3-5 min.
- Serve hot with phulka, chapati or as a side dish with dal and rice.
