Harvya Kaanyacho Kuvall (Raw Onion Coconut Curry)


A quick and easy to make Goan curry. It is a coconut based curry, topped up with raw onion. It is a no cook dish. It is served with steamed rice. It tastes best when accompanied by rava fried potatoes.

Measurement: 1 Cup = 180 ml
Serves: 3
Ingredients:
  1. Freshly scrapped coconut - 1 cup
  2. Red chillies - 2
  3. Peppercorns - 15
  4. Tamarind - 2 to 3 tsp
  5. Water - 3/4 cup
  6. Onion (chopped) - 1 small
  7. Salt to taste
Procedure:
  • Grind all the ingredients except onion with 1/2 a cup water to a fine paste.
  • Pour it in the serving bowl and add remaining water and stir well.
  • Add raw onion at the time of serving.
  • Serve with steamed rice.
