Dali Thoy with Tomato


Ingredients:
  1. Toor dal - 1/4 cup
  2. Tamato (chopped) - 1medium size
  3. Green chillies (slit) - 2 to 3
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
  5. Ginger (grated) - 1/4 tsp (optional)
  6. Asofoetida (hing) - 1/3 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Corriander leaves (chopped) - 1 tsp


For the tempering:
  1. Coconut oil/ Ghee - 1.5 tsp
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  3. Curry leaves - 7-8

Procedure:
  • Boil/ pressure cook toor dal.
  • Add all the ingredients numbering 2 to 7 and water as per your requirement.
  • Simmer fo 3 - 4 min.
  • Add corriander leaves.
  • Give it a tempering with mustard seeds and curry leaves in coconut oil.
  • Serve hot with rice.
